eye to eye

How to make the most of your eyes.

Eyes are the first thing one notices in a face. Makeup is important for correcting imperfections and a good technique is just as important as using the correct products! Practice along with an attractive choice of shades can give remarkable results, and can help show off your unique eye style!

Proportioned Eye

  1. Apply light neutral shadow to lid.
  2. Apply medium-tone shadow just above crease as shown, gradually darkening towards the outer edge of eye to bring it 'up and out'.  Bed Head's 4-Play Eyeshadow in Fool Proof offers several coordinating neutral shades that make a look like this really easy to pull off.
  3. Blend to soften.

Prominent Lid, Small Underlid

  1. Apply light neutral shadow to underbrow and crease.
  2. Use a darker shadow on outer one-third of underbrow, blending gently toward the outer end of the brow.
  3. To make lid recede, apply a medium neutral shadow to inner two-thirds of lid. Do not apply to crease if it is dark and sunken.
  4. Blend to soften.

Small Lid, Large Underbrow

  1. Apply light neutral shadow to lid and underbrow.
  2. Use a darker shade in the form of a half moon just above the crease to sculpture and minimize brow. This will 'open' your eye and keep it from appearing droopy.  Dramatic colors often flatter eyes with a large underbrow, so we suggest a palette similar to Bed Head's 4 Play Eyeshadow in Drama Queen.
  3. Blend to soften.

Small Lid, Small Underbrow

  1. Apply pale shadow similar to your eye color to entire underbrow area.
  2. Use a darker shadow on the outer one-third of lid, blending gently upwards towards the outer end of the brow.
  3. Blend to soften.
  4. Applying mascara moreheavily on the very outside of your eye will also help to accentuate the contours of your eye.  We suggest Kiss Me Mascara in either Brown or Black.
